New Year's Eve 2000

To celebrate the start of the new millennium Jacques and I were off to party the night away at the Hilton just behind our house. The dance studio was having their annual New Year’s Eve party and it just happened to be within walking distance. Some of our friends met us at the house for pre-dinner cocktails and then we decided to walk over to the hotel.

The party included a delicious prime rib dinner, salad, and fruit-topped cheesecake for dessert. Once the dinner portion of the evening came to a close several of the students, as well at the instructors, showcased their routines from the latest dance competition. Elizabeth did her swing and Cha Cha routines with her instructor. This time she was able to finish more than 10 spins without getting too dizzy and falling down. (FYI - She did get too dizzy after 15 spins during her practice the night before)

Jacques and Liz enjoyed the evening with dinner and dancing and good times with friends. Here you see the newlyweds enjoying the ambience of the festivities. Yes, they are still happy and loving it after almost five months of married bliss.

Jacques should be thrilled to be surrounded by such beautiful women. I guess it was getting late in the evening.

Despite Jacques’ wavering energy, Elizabeth continued to party into the wee hours of the morning. In fact, several of the partygoers came over to raid the refrigerator after the hotel party shut down for the night.

As mentioned before, a few of the partygoers came over to raid the refrigerator at our house after the hotel party was shut down for the night. We finally finished the rest of the leftovers from Christmas dinner. As most of you know Jacques loves a good debate. So, it was not to my surprise that he(we) stayed up till 4:30 in the morning engaged in “the great debate” with one of our friends about anything and everything. Finally, it got to be too much and everyone went home and we went to bed.
